A high-level delegation from the UAE left for Israel on Tuesday. On the identical day, Israeli Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi met with the delegation.
Omar Saif Ghobash, Advisor to the UAE Foreign Minister, handed over a letter from Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Israeli Foreign Minister Ashkenazi to open the embassy.

Within the letter, Nahyan thanked Ashkenazi for growing relations between the 2 nations. He hopes that Israel will quickly arrange an embassy within the emirate.
Earlier, on August 13, the United Arab Emirates and Israel introduced the normalization of relations between the 2 nations. Many within the Muslim world, together with the Palestinian Authority, have expressed outrage on the deal.
